It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Captain Bob Hotton
Late Brother Hutton passed away on June 27, 2026 from Prostrate Cancer, Bob was 81.
Started August 7, 1970- Retired August 31, 2000

The Retired Committee has decided to move us into the computer age. Hopefully this will allow better information exchange for all. The web site will provide us the ability to update the members information in real time rather than rely on past practices.
We see this new service to the retired members as a real positive step in maintaining the important social connection with our members. We have, as you well know a number of services that support our brotherhood from the CRUN, the 314 FBS to the newly established Wellness Network (RFWN).
We view the new website of the VRFA as a bridge to all these groups that operate for the benefit and welfare of the retired members of Local 18. We sincerly hope you will be a regular visitor to this site to stay abreast of all the news.

Brothers & Sisters,
As our first order of business to bring us into the 21st century we are asking that all retired members update their respective files. We have recently experience a number of members who have passed whose families were not able to notify us of their passing. We would therefore like to remind you that in the event of your passing any correspondence that needs to be sent to your family is likely not going to reach them in a timely fashion.
Also, we ask that you please inform your family there are several steps that need to be taken care of in the event of your passing. This is a trying and stressful time for your loved ones. We have a form that we on the Committee follow. Obviously, yourselves may not know the procedure in the event of your passing.
So, in an attempt to stream line this information we ask that you take a few minutes to update your files by filling our this form. This is information is very important to us and we have taken the necessary step to protect and maintain the privacy of each members information.
